Was the very first response to the band's self titled demo from 2004 and its introduction to the world. The Motion from Brabant, (Holland) began their adventure in October 2003. After they experimented with their sound in search of their own, they recorded a three song demo at Rekorder studio in Hamburg. The critics couldn't miss it: 'Solid rock and emo: The Motion from Tilburg knows what to do with that. With these songs this quartet already belongs between great Dutch bands such as Face Tomorrow and Green Lizard', wrote one of the biggest Dutch hard rock magazines Aardschok. 'The Motion is an incredibly tight collective that knows how to create an atmosphere in generally heavy songs', states another Dutch music magazine Live XS.
The Motion hasn't sat still after its praising start. It started to play as many shows as possible. In its 4th show, the band opened for the famous Dutch band Face Tomorrow and was able to play in a sold out venue called W2. The band is live as convincing as on CD: 'The sound which The Motion plays catches on and this foursome knows how to build up a song strikingly well' (KindaMuzik about the W2 show). The band also played several shows in Belgium, including a gig at one of Belgium's greatest rock festivals Groezrock.
After the success of the demo, The Motion started to improve their sound. After a line-up change, they chose to continue as a three-piece rockband. They wrote a lot of new songs and decided to record seven of them. Because the demo was so well received and the band loved to work with the guys from Rekorder studio in Hamburg, they went back there. The songs were recorded and the result is a seven song mini-album which will blow you away.
Since October 2006 The Motion has a new member added to its line-up. Koen
Damman (ex-Close Second, ex-Facing Down, Of No Avail) is a guitarist and
singer.
Recently The Motion played in Paradiso, A'dam!

3.One is a now-defunct post-punk band from Chicago IL, which formed in the fall of 1998, and disbanded in the spring of 2005. They combined the indie sensibility of 90's rockers like the Archers of Loaf with an adventurous songwriting style reminiscent of prog-rock, topped off with stoner-rock style riffs. In today's terms, they would be stylistically similar to the Mars Volta, Denava, and Comets on Fire. The Motion released 2 full-length discs and a 7" on their own Sad Loud America records. The members of The Motion went on to form The Pale Gallery with the addition of guitarist Brian Boes in 2007.
