The Jackalopes were a High Energy, Horror Punk N' Roll band from the bowels of Dayton, Ohio. The Jackalopes started in 1998 and have played with and shared space on compilations with bands ranging from Electric Frankenstein, Mr. Bungle, The Ataris, New Bomb Turks, The Hellacopters, Graves, The Donnas, Blitzkid, Wednesday 13, 69 Eyes and MANY more! The band broke up in late 2003 and crawled back out of their hallowed holes in 2005 and in 2007 merged with lead vocalist, Rev. Chad Wells' more experimental Wulfkult to play a handful of final live shows.
Often compared to The Misfits, Fear, The Damned, Motley Crue and even Hawkwind(!!), the band has similarly carved a deep black "X" into the forehead of the Rock N' Roll underground. LOCK UP YOUR CHILDREN BECAUSE THE STREETS WILL NEVER BE SAFE AGAIN!
Former founding members of The Jackalopes, Rev. Chad Wells and drummer Kyle Thirteen have recently launched a metal/punk band with southern sludge and hellbilly roots called Hazard County Heathens featuring Wells' brother Lucifer Laine Stephens (formerly of Sedation Generation, The Bang Tale) on vocals.
