The Fallen Stars (formed 2001) are the product of husband and wife team Bobbo & Tracy Byrnes. Tracy grew up with Springsteen always on in the house as well as classic folk, while Bobbo took his mother's love of classic country and traditional Irish and blended it with his love of the Clash and Replacements. Later on they fell into the alt.country scene in Los Angeles and started listening to a lot of Gram Parsons & Emmylou Harris.
2008, 2009 found The Fallen Stars Orange County Music Award winners for "Best Live Acoustic Band" & "Best Country/Americana Band" as well as the SoCal Live Music "Best Live Rock Band" & "Best Live Acoustic Band" for 2009. Members have included: Gregg Braught (guitar) Danny Ott (guitar/lap steel), Brian Matteson (drums), Geoff Geib (keyboard and mandolin), Gary O'Yeah (drums), Duston Erwin (saxophone), Chuck Rogers (drums).
"Where The Road Bends" was nominated for "Album of the Year" in the OCMA's in 2009 and featured the keyboard playing of Rami Jaffee (wallflowers, foo fighters) as well as the song "St. George's Bank" was nominated for "Song of the Year".
