Before becoming a Female Fronted Gothic Darkwave band, Anti-M was a trio of keyboardists. Together with Portland Oregon guitarist, Steve (Salty) Weber, the band released NO WAVES IN HELL, a humorous concept album about a surfer who dreams he goes to hell and finds there are no waves there. Imagine 80's pop / rock meets Frank Zappa's Joes Garage. With an ever evolving sound the bands second album, Positively Negative was just as heavy on the synths while also featuring legendary Guitarist Ronnie Montrose on several of the tracks.
With an ever evolving sound the bands second album, Positively Negative was just as heavy on the synths while also featuring legendary Guitarist Ronnie Montrose on several of the tracks. Also worth noting is guest vocalist Barbara M. who would become a major part of the bands next phase of evolution, into a female fronted gothic rock band.
In 2005 everything changed. Barbara M. joined on Lead Vocals, Jon M. joined on Guitars and Derek P. on drums. Along with founder "Wedge". Anti-M had a new dark gothic sound with a beautiful voice. Now influenced by such bands as Lacuna Coil, Within Temptation and the Gathering to name a few, the band introduced it's new sound on the studio album DAMAGE.
Damage was followed by Damaged Little Things, featuring many remixes and alternate out takes from the Damage sessions. As of 2012 the band was in the studio working on a covers album that will feature songs by Lacuna Coil, Garbage, Depeche Mode, Fur Patrol, King Crimson and The Who.
