Tetzepi has been the most innovative band in the Dutch Big Band Scene for more than ten years now. Tetzepi's repertoire soley consists of material composed exclusively for the band: a repertoire that expores the boundaries between jazz, improvisation and contemporary composed music. Tetzepi does not shy away from musical confrontation, but it never loses touch with its swinging roots either. Tetzepi makes extensive use of everything that modern (musical)life has to offer: world music (especially from Southern India), contemporary composed music and all sorts of improvised music and electronics.
