Terra Ambient

Terra Ambient is the music project of Jeff Kowal (born 1972 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania). As the principal composer and musician, Jeff incorporates a unique balance of technology and primal and acoustic sound into his musical palette. He has played guitar, bass, bansuri, keyboards, drums and other instruments over the years, and he is known for his thick textural soundscapes and overdubbing techniques.

Jeff began recording under the moniker Terra Ambient in 2001 with his first release, "The Darker Space." Since then, he has made music for broadcast commercials, independent film, gallery installations, as well as collaborating with other musicians, including Michael Allison (Darshan Ambient) and Jeff Pearce.

Terra Ambient's latest release, "Wanderlust" (lotuspike 2009), is already garnishing attention and airplay across the globe and on syndicated programming such as John Diliberto's "ECHOES" and Stephen Hill's "Hearts of Space".
