Real Name: Dean De Benedictis Ever since Dean De Benedictis's experimental/ambient project, Surface 10, debuted on Hypnotic Records in 1996, it has served as the most appropriate outlet for Dean to infuse emotional melodies with technologically exhibitionistic methodology. Lingering on a style template that some refer to as "IDM" or "Glitch" (experimental electronica), Surface 10 has lost and gained variations of fan bases, a stability he was willing to sacrifice for his creative freedom and relished unpredictability.

Hopelessly infested with an endless desire to translate the abstract into discernible music, Dean De Benedictis (Surface 10--Surface 10 Activity) has remained fairly submerged in the 'techo-logical' revolution, while at the same time, has been drenched in a virtual stigmata of echoes from his vintage-music interests and tendencies towards their homage.

Dean's music under his original moniker Surface 10 (Hypnotic, DiN and SFM Records) has taken many stylistic twists since its genesis in 1996, and has been featured on radio throughout the globe and talked about throughout the Internet. The spectrum of approaches and genres that Dean has drawn influence from for this project range from schools of electronic music to various forms of jazz, experimental, rock, symphonic, world and even pop. Surface 10's attempts to fuse genres and convey broad emotions through technology has not always gone understood by the mainstream media, although, his small fan base has held firm to their dedication. Among some of De Benedictis's other accomplishments are claims that he is the founder of both The Fateless Flows Collective, in Los Angeles, and is the co-founder of an annual, outdoor, electronic music concert called Cyberstock.
