SUPERFORTRESS

Fronted by Nao, New York City based Japanese post punk electro artist, SUPERFORTRESS breaks a new ground by using slick, yet raw analog sound of yesteryear, combining it with driving beats and fresh perspective on life, love and emotional journeys in the styles of David Bowie, Duran Duran, and New Order. On the streets Tokyo?fs Shibuya district Nao spent his teenage years searching for instruments/records and inhaling everything that the brilliant area had to offer.

Therefore it was a natural thing for him to move to the equally artistic New York City, and holed himself in Lower East Side and pieced together his SUPERFORTRESS.

After releasing a self-titled album in 2005, SUPERFORTRESS made a promotional trip to Germany in February 2006 to perform at the famous White Trash Fast Food venue in Berlin. In the same year, they participated in a MTV Asia sponsored event & appeared at M.E.A.N.Y Fest & CMJ Music Marathon. The tune, "Missing People" was in heavy rotation on many collage radio stations.

In the spring of 2008, SUPERFORTRESS released the EP "Candy Apple II," and played the critical opening slot for Gil Mantera?fs Party Dream at Knitting Factory NY. The first video from the EP "New Day" has debut on Chicago's legendary independent music channel JBTV on the 4th of July weekend.

SUPERFORTRESS once again opened up for GMPD in the summer of 2010, and looking to appear on CMJ.
