Founded in January 1975 by Bora ?or?evi? (ex Zajedno), Nenad Bo?i? (ex U cvetu mladosti) and singers Sne?ana Jandrli? and Vesna Rako?evi?. Sne?ana Jandrli? sang previously in "Jesus Christ superstar" rock opera in Atelje 212 theater. Once the "Kara Mustafa" single was out, Vesna Rako?evi? leaves and Biljana Krsti? and Gorica Popovi? join. With the new bass player Bata Soki? they play at BOOM festival in Belgrade 1976. Same year, they take a part in youth movie "Nije nego" - as actors and musicians.
They were predominantly an acoustic band, with many songs pulling from Serbian folk music. Their side show was the fake band "Hajduk Stanko i jataci", which is Suncokret (btw, sunflower) with DJ Zoran Modli playing joke songs, which supposedly happen few centuries ago, under Turkish rule.
Their album "Moje bube" ("My bugs", but can also mean "My caprices") contains "Prvi sneg" (first snow), which becomes a cult classic - any female singer worth her salt has to do it at least once; Sla?ana Miloševi? has a very convincing version of it.
After Bora comes up with his song "Lutka sa naslovne strane" (front page doll) which the rest of the band refuse to play, for it's completely out of line with everything the band did so far, so he and Biljana Krsti? left and join ?etva. The band gets new members - keyboard player and a drummer, go electric and keep publishing singles until 1979.
?etva (harvest) is the band which will revolve around the personality of ?or?e Balaševi?. Bora stays there a month or two and then forms Riblja ?orba (fish stew - the name actually has menstrual connotations) and "The doll" is their first big hit - and the band is still active; Biljana stays with Bala?evi? for an album or two and goes into solo career in the eighties; nowadays she leads "Bistrik", Balkan ethno band playing very old music. ?etva actually splits into ?etva (most of the members) and Rani mraz (early frost), which is Biljana and ?or?e.
Sne?ana Jandrli? graduated law. Gorica Popovi? became a well known actress.
