Hard punk Rock at times borders on speed punk/Garage. Angry, Intense vocals. Wild free form guitars. Crushing drums, And very artistic Bass guitar. Lyrics are about real life struggles. Punk/garage/hard rock combo. The band formed in 2003 in Pennsylvania. All 3 members had went to high school together and had been friends for years. Founder Mike Gaschler formed the band on May 7th 2003. Gaschler started out as only wanting to write the lyrics.http://stonecoldtruthrocks.com After going through a bitter court battle he had written some dialog.
A few weeks later after talking to an old friend (Mark Remo) they decided to form Stone Cold Truth. With Gaschler writing the lyrics, playing the guitars, and vocals. Both Gaschler and Remo had played for over 20 years but never were in a band. Later John Fox would join as their bass player. Fox had played in some bands in the past and Remo actually had been a part of the road crew. Fox was actually a guitarist but converted to bass. Fox had more of a classic rock/rhythmic sound. With Gaschler's odd vocals style and hard voice, the choppy/unorthodox guitar he played seemed to fit. Fox actually began as Stone Cold Truth's Sound engineer. The band recorded 3 entire Cds in less than 2 years.
2 Cities Live!--2006 Be The Shield--2007 House of Muncy--2008 were all delayed slightly with the mixdown and mastering/artwork. All the songs were recorded on the very 1st take--this was to capture the punk/garage sound. No special effects pedals were used, however the line 6 amps did provide the built in effects.
