In late 2003 San Francisco label Praemedia released the second record by the Brooklyn-based band (self-described 'electroacoustic, comprovised free-folk torch-song collective'), Stars Like Fleas: Sun lights down on the fence. This record has been crawling its way out of the wilderness and into cultish acclaim ever since. The group has recently performed with Sagan, Blevin Belctum, Hrvatski, Black Lights (Kyp Malone of TV On The Radio) and Akron/Family. Currently Stars Like Fleas are in the studio at Rare Book Room with Nicolas Vernhes (Animal Collective, Fiery Furnaces, Cat Power, Black Dice) working on a follow-up to Sun lights down on the fence, and plans to re-release their first record ? which was mixed and mastered with Adam Wiltzie (Dead Texan, Stars Of The Lid) and Kramer (Galaxie 500, Low) in 2000 ? sometime in the late spring, 2005.
