In early 2005, their lead singer Justin, left due to conflicting personalities in the band. Sean took over as vocals, while they added Jake's cousin, Dennis Arkesteyn to fill in on guitar. The band tried to continue, but it just wasn't working, so they called it quits in late 2005.
For the Past four years Smoody has played all over the state including the Aris' Rock Search Finals in '05 and opening slots for national acts the likes of 3, Dog Fashion Disco, and Social Burn.
