Sharon West is a multi-instrumental composer who has been writing music full-time for about the last 5 years. During her youth she played piano, recorder, violin and saxophone, and seriously debated pursuing music in college but ended up getting a B.S. and M.S. in Engineering from the University of Illinois (Champaign/Urbana) before embarking on a 20 year career in Telecom. She also earned her MBA from Northwestern University mid-way in her Telecom career, which has helped immensely in her current situation of running her own independent record label.
She continued to write music in her spare time while working but was continually drawn to and fascinated by the world of synthesizers and composition. She decided to leave the corporate world after 20 years and write music full-time, setting up a studio in her home and going back to school at the Berklee School of Music in Boston (online) to develop her songwriting and composition skills. She has produced 4 instrumental music CDs to date, is working on some others to be released in the future as well as doing some arranging and collaborating with local artists
in the Chicago area on various music projects.
