Seeded Skies is an instrumental band from the hills of Santa Rosa, which is a town about 1 hour north of San Francisco, California. Their line up consists of guitar, bass, and drums, but it would be fair to say that the bass player, Mikey, utilizes a forth instrument as well: effects pedals. The band members (Mikey, Andrew, & Ross) met up initially in the fall of 2002 for loose jam sessions. It became quickly apparent that they had chemistry.
They started developing musical ideas to showcase the talent they shared as a whole. Many of these first sessions were recorded on a a 4-track port-a-studio. These served as rough drafts for what was to be their first self titled EP, recorded June 1 2003 at Grizzly Studios in Petaluma.
The band has now finished their first full length album titled ?Clockwise?, recorded during the summer of 2004 also at Grizzly. Both CDs are made available by the band. The band pressed and gave away over 1000 of their first EP.
Seeded Skies plays music that is engaging spiritually for the participants; it is instrumental but it is their way of speaking. There are all avid collectors of music in general, most of which is far different than the music they create. When one hears the music, they can think of the images such as oceans forests and the darkness of night.
They play at a high volumes so as to surround the listeners with a wall of sound, but there is also a certain subtlety to the bass echoes, cymbal splashes, and guitar reverberation that hopes to surround the listener with comfort.
