There are 2 different artists named Second Movement: 1. An obscure krautrock band from Coburg, Germany. The band was formed in 1971, but their roots dates back from the late sixties. The lineup consisted of Harald Kesselhack (vocals), Seggi Zeidler (keyboards), Thomas Mockl (guitars), Manni Greiner (bass), Mathias Helk (drums) and Manni Bierback (flute and sax). Their music featured typical, melodic late seventies style progressive rock with symphonic touches.

With only 700 copies pressed, it featured typical, melodic late seventies style progressive rock with symphonic touches. The single Fool's Dance / Rainbow was also released in that year. Their sophomore (and final) album, Movement, was released in 1981.

2. A jazz/funk group from New York City, USA. Formed in 2003, the band consists of Thomas Shaw (keyboards), Mark Hanna (guitars), Justin Kimmel (bass), Matthew Tredwell (drums) and David Caputo (sax). Their music is Herbie Hancock-influenced, with a very groove-driven, energetic and pulsating sound. Their debut album, Second Movement, was released in 2005.
