Sanctum

There are (at least) four artists with this name: 1) Sanctum (USA, Crust) Sanctum is a heavily metal influenced crust punk band from Seattle, Washington. They formed in 2004 and broke up in 2008. They released two EPs, a split record with Stormcrow (US), and a full length LP entitled, "On The Horizon". They are similar to Stormcrow (US), early Bolt Thrower, and early Sacrilege (UK). 2) Sanctum (Sweden, Industrial) Sanctum is a new band from the Cold Meat Industry label. That with their first album "Lupus In Fabula" opens up a new dimension of Nordic industrial music.

1) Sanctum (USA, Crust)

2) Sanctum (Sweden, Industrial)
Sanctum is a new band from the Cold Meat Industry label. That with their first album "Lupus In Fabula" opens up a new dimension of Nordic industrial music.
The band consisted of Jan Carleklev, Lena Robert, Hakan Paulsson and cellist Marika Kante. Unfortunately Marika Kante (Ex. Ljungberg) and Lena Robert left in 2001 after the us tour.
Together they create music that penetrates the human mind and its extremes.
It throws you from a cage of tigers into the arms of angels, flows like raging water with islands of delicate silence.
It is magic industrial ambient, samples of sound and rhythm that form a challenging frame for the harsh male voice and the sometimes brutal, sometimes fair female voice.
In 1994 Hakan (Paulsson) started a musical project with focus on the visual. They initially worked with musical theatre but we also made performances on their own combining music and videoprojection.
So the main reason way Sanctum exists is to find an expression for our lives, to filter everything that penatrates our minds. Sanctum (Industrial) is has coinncections with the projects "Parca Pace" (Jan Carleklev only), Azure Skies (H?kan Paulson and Jan with Samuel Durling and David Durling from Mental destruction), Mago (Janne and H?kan with Ulrika Carlsson (Sanctum VJ) and Stephanie Euler (Videoartist and Jans Wife)

3) Sanctum (Belgium, Hip-Hop)
Sanctum is an MC from Leuven, Belgium. Originally one half of S.E.C.U. (La Sagesse Elev? par la Communication Oubli?), he persued a solo career. His first album "Opper-rationeel" was free to download from his website. In 2002, it was released by Mental Records. A second record "Amor Fati" followed in 2004. He released his latest, "De bevestiging", in 2006.

4) Sanctum (Australia, Death Metal)
Sanctum originated in Australia. They recorded two full-lengths, "Raped Of Your Religion" (1993) and "Generation 2094 EP" (1994, never officially released).
