There are 2 artists with the name Samarah. 1. a US midwest based idm/electronic/techno producer with releases on Belladonna, Zod and Nishi Records and 2. A metal/alternative band from Germany. 1: SAMARAH - Minimal techno, IDM, Indie-pop NEW ALBUM "MATTERS OF THE HEART" COMING 2010! Samarah began playing piano at the age of seven and spent hours in her bedroom experimenting with sounds from her yamaha, guitar and mashing up songs on cassettes from the radio. By thirteen she was composing her own songs and played her first gig in a rock band at fifteen in a small bar in Fond du Lac, WI.

NEW ALBUM "MATTERS OF THE HEART" COMING 2010!

Samarah began playing piano at the age of seven and spent hours in her bedroom experimenting with sounds from her yamaha, guitar and mashing up songs on cassettes from the radio. By thirteen she was composing her own songs and played her first gig in a rock band at fifteen in a small bar in Fond du Lac, WI. In the late 90's she discovered the rave scene and became smitten with techno, jungle and ambient. Inspired, she bought a chunk of vinyl, her first computer and acquired production software, synthesizers, and samplers. The ending result were elegant, swirling compositions of minimal electronic music and manipulated vocals.

After moving to Madison, WI in 2000, she began promoting ambient events and in 2003 released her first ep "So Lovely" -- the title track was picked up by Minneapolis Ltd Records for a comp. In 2004 she followed up with a downtempo ep, What is Beautiful and in 2005 released her most experimental ep, These Things which showcased refined production skills and was picked up by multiple netlabels.

In 2006, Samarah released her first full-length album Falling Away as a co-release with Zod Records which she won a MAMA award for. Throughout the years she has played throughout the Midwest in cafes, clubs and raves alongside artists Andreas Tilliander, Cepia, Landau, Pressboard, Tiki Obmar, The Flashbulb, and others.

A follow up EP "Robots Smile Too" was released in 2007 and Samarah is currently working on her anticipated second full-length album to be released in 20010.

2: SAMARAH - A 4 Piece Metal/Alternative-Band from Saarbruecken, Germany. Members: Marcel Staub (voc), Sven Siersdorfer (Drums) Michael Grandjean (Bass) and Steven Haag (Guitar). Their current Album "Leaving The Underground" has been released in September 2007. In 2008 Samarah will start through. The Album "Leaving The Underground" has been released on ES&L Entertainment / Sony CMS on March 7th.
