Samar Newsome

Newark, NJ native, Grew up in the church where he honed his soul infused style of poetic life messages of truth and love over lavish chords and harmonies. His musicianship adds to the character of his music. Having studied classically at Westminster in Princeton, and played in multi-denominations of churches since the age of 14, Samar really has a strong conviction of the real truth and delivers it smoothly and with a soulful uniqueness. He's been characterized as a mix between D'angelo and Fred Hammond with the soul conviction and awareness of Donnie Hathaway and Marvin Gaye.
