Rosie Vela was known as a fashion model in the 1980's when she decided to get into the music business as a singer songwriter . She signed to A & M records in 1986 releasing her first Album, Zazu (produced by Gary Katz, best known for his work with Steely Dan) which achieved critical success but alas not commercial success. Zazu featured Steely Dan members Donald Fagen and Walter Becker and a jazzy style of pop/rock.
The follow-up, Sun Across the Altar (featuring many of the same players as Zazu), remains unreleased.
