Shields were formed in the back-woods of South West Scotland - three young musicians all from the same rural community, with a passion to write and play music to move others. They enjoy indulging in the epic, and have always harboured the ambition to write 'enormous' songs, both musically, taking great influence from orchestral arrangements, and of course, lyrically. Shields signed to PeerMusic Publishing, the worlds largest independant music publisher in 2006 over in Los Angeles.
Shields signed to PeerMusic Publishing, the worlds largest independant music publisher in 2006 over in Los Angeles. Since then, they have set the foundations for what is hopefully going to be a great 2008, having supported artists such as Biffy Clyro and Newton Faulkner, working with producers Mark Needham (The Killers, Fleetwood Mac) and Greg Wells (Mika), performing at the ASCAP event at SxSW, and making the MusicWeek Playlist alongside Cold War Kids and fellow Southern Scot, Calvin Harris.
