Rich Johnson

Born in St. Paul, MN, I began playing trumpet at the age of ten. In the mid-nineties, inspired by Kenneth Gaburo, Don Cherry, Low, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Iannis Xenakis, and Morton Feldman, I started to see new opportunities in music. Moving to NYC to attend Manhattan School of Music, I began to pursue the goal of creating sound that transcends the idea of style or genre.
