There are multiple bands with the name Relative. 1. Relative is an experimental, psychadelic electronic band from Bend, Oregon. Their first full length is due out in October of 2008 on Spice Trader Records, with a west coast tour to follow. Relative is begining to actively play around their home state of Oregon. The band consists of a production duo, Monkey and Spike, who have been playing together for 3-4 years now, and have also, with Monkey's wife Sarah, been running Spice Trader Records.

Relative is begining to actively play around their home state of Oregon. The band consists of a production duo, Monkey and Spike, who have been playing together for 3-4 years now, and have also, with Monkey's wife Sarah, been running Spice Trader Records. The two members pull from very different influences, with Monkey being more influenced by 60's era psychadellic, Frank Zappa, etc, while Spike pulls more from the industrial and synthpop genres making for an interesting blend of musical styles.

2. Relative is a post-rockish band that has been playing in various incarnations since 1998. They have been homed originally in Rochester, MN, then later in Olympia, WA and currently in Chicago, IL. They co-founded Last Minute Records, a small independent record company that has released a dozen or so albums by various bands in the Midwest. Original members were Brian Busenius, Mike Thompson, and Josh Wilcox. Wilcox left the band in 2002, they played briefly with Joshua Owsley and currently play as a two peice. They've released 3 records, the first of which is difficult to find and stylistically very different from their other material. They've also been on several compilation records.
