Formed in 1969 by Charles Givings, Rare Gems Odyssey started out as a trio They soon grew to five pieces and signed by Casablanca Reords and Filmworks, created one of the best funk/disco songs ever. The title "What Is Funk" is still selling and is quite popular around the world. A new release by them titled, "From the Vault", is a cd of songs never released. Still located in the Los Angeles area, Rare Gems Odyssey still continues to record and perform
