Ambient, arresting, and disturbingly addictive, Ramona the Pest delivers razor sharp songs with conviction and without apology. RTP blends such influences as the Pixies and PJ Harvey with their own appetite for the atmospheric to create a sound sometimes compared to the legendary Patti Smith and Kristen Hersh. Emotionally potent, Ramona the Pest could be the soundtrack to your heartbreak or it just might be the remedy.
Cofounders Valerie Esway and Lucio Menegon have moved onto other projects, but since it's beginnings in 1996 as an acoustic duo, years of shows, tours and albums saw RTP morph stylistically yet always offer a distinct, original sound.
Someday there will be more from 'The Pest,' But until then do check out Val's solo work at www.staggeringsiren.com and Lucio's at www.kingtone.com.
