Peter Edwards

Peter Edwards has been exploring the field of circuit bending and creative electronics since 2000 through his business Casperelectronics. He has created custom works for collectors and musicians around the world including Mike Patton, Danny Elfman, Mark Hosler of Negativland and Rahzel. Edwards received an BFA in sculpture from The Rhode Island School of Design in 2000. Since then he has taught himself electronics and strives to find ways to help creative thinkers take control of the medium.

In 2005 he began the creative electronics department at Hampshire College where he also developed and taught courses. He currently teaches circuit bending classes at New York City's new media arts center, Harvest Works and the Arts Center of the Capital Region in Troy NY.

Edwards has performed and shown his work at a number of galleries and music venues across the USA and Europe. He has also spoken and presented his work at several conventions and festivals including Piksel open source technologies convention (Bergen, Norway 07? & 09?) Blip 8-bit music festival (New York City), PotLuckCon audio engineers convention (New Orleans, LA), Notacon hackers convention (Cleveland, OH), Electro-Music Festival DIY synth builders convention (New Jersey, NY) and he has been involved in all 6 Bent circuit bending festivals in New York City. He has also provided printed material for several publications including Icelandic art magazine Rafskinna and American DIY tech magazine Make.

Edwards currently lives in Troy, New York where he operates Casperelectronics and co curates the creative electronics performance space Casper Land with his fiance Kate Sweater.
