Paul Olenick (composer/trombone) has performed with Aretha Franklin, Robin Eubanks, Oliver Lake, Nelson Riddle Orchestra, Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Keter Betts, Charlie Persip, Rich Perry, Ben Monder and Terrell Stafford among others. Paul has toured extensively throughout North America and Europe. He has performed in venues ranging from world famous jazz clubs and concert halls like The Blue Note, Birdland and the Kennedy Center to arts festivals like New York and Philly Fringe Festivals, and several of the IAJE conferences.
Paul has been awarded the Thad Jones Memorial Scholarship, Stan Getz/Clifford Brown Fellowship, National ARTS Scholarship and was the second place winner of the Fish Middleton Jazz Competition. In 1999 he was selected to take part in the JAS Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Colony which was made into a documentary for BET. He is an active freelancer in New York City performing in broadway shows, clubs and events. Paul released his first album as a leader called "Contact" in 2008 on Fresh Sound Records.
