The Partibrejkers (Partybreakers) are a garage rock band from Belgrade, Serbia sometimes cited as the founders of YU garage rock. It is difficult to categorize them as their influences are diverse, such as the Stooges, MC5, early Rolling Stones or New York Dolls - all spiced up with a healthy dose of blues, rhythm-and-blues (in the '50s and '60s sense - not contemporary R&B) and rock'n'roll. The Partibrejkers were formed in 1982 and released their debut album in 1985 in a two guitars + drums + vocal set (no bass), produced by Koja of Disciplina ki?me.
The Partibrejkers were formed in 1982 and released their debut album in 1985 in a two guitars + drums + vocal set (no bass), produced by Koja of Disciplina ki?me. To-date they have experienced numerous changes in their line-up. The mainstay of the band are Zoran Kosti? - Cane (vocals) and Neboj?a Antonijevi? - Anton (guitar). They have received steady critical acclaim over the years and are received well by audiences in former Yugoslavia, necessarily because of their music, but also due to their anti-war activism with the Rimtutituki project.
