Joey Cannon is Ottoman Ottoman spawned from a three piece electronic band Otaku No Denki. Formed in Liverpool, UK the band released an album back in Sept 2003 'The Future Played Backwards' which was well liked by the late John Peel. Otaku Welcome U is a tribute to the band he once played in. Also has worked on other projects with Quow Quow and Music Taken out of Context Ottoman left Otaku No Denki shortly after the album was released to travel round the world. He stayed in New Zealand for 2 and a half years continuing to make music. He returned to UK in 2006.

His music is inspired from travelling. Background sounds to accompany most modes of transport and the imagery he has in mind would be quite abstract and sometimes dark. When Gaere Corrodes was influenced from listening to War of the Worlds loads of times.
Since listening to 80s, New Order, Bronski Beat and Paul Hardcastle, Ottoman has developed a his own weird skew on electronic music, pulling influences from John Barry to Boards of Canada and As I was Rowing is an example of this.
