Their music is a blend of acoustic guitars and rich vocals, of childhood memories and nostalgia, of joy, sadness and everything in between. New Settlement Road's Debut EP, recorded by ARIA award winning producer Robin Mai (John Butler Trio, Augie March) is a collection of five unique stories that combine earthy acoustic guitar and some gritty electric guitar sounds with a rich sounding vocal highlighted by a light sprinkling of harmony.

The EP's second track, ?Brothers' Bones' is the story of three friends who all take different paths to the same war. The listener is taken on a journey as the central character, Blue, a helicopter pilot, attempts to fly in supplies to the frontlines. Fate reunites the three for a final journey that ends in tragedy. As the story unfolds, the vivid imagery created by the lyrics takes the listener to the war torn scene and evokes feelings of loss, tragedy and camaraderie.
New Settlement Road is the brainchild of brothers, Warren Clark and Gavin Butcher. The pair was put on the musical path at a very young age, listening to their mother's old Bob Dylan recordings. ?The soul that exists in those songs and recordings is something that has influenced me greatly? says singer/songwriter Clark. ?For me, the song and the story have always taken precedent over any technical prowess? he added. After many years playing in separate musical projects, the pair teamed up in late 2007 to create New Settlement Road. The plan ? to create songs that, on the one hand, summed up who they were and where they had come from, but also explored musical ideas and lyrical themes that allowed them to grow as artists.
