In 2001, a group of high school kids banded together under the name Erosion to share an image of beauty through music. Armed with passion and cheap equipment they ambled through disjointed ten minute epics, quickly realizing that they lacked focus and cohesion. Through Gods refining fire of time, persistence and creative differences, musicians came and went, but the passion of that group of high school kids was not diminished.
Instead, as they found their focus and cohesion, they also found a purpose. It became clear that a guiding force lay behind the band--and the music itself--as the four remaining members found a commonality in their love for and dedication to Jesus Christ. So now, five years later as college students and graduates armed with passion, purpose, and talent, a band that once played under a name that described a process of wearing away is reborn as Mourning to Mercy. Though varied in musical style, Mourning to Mercy is nevertheless devoted to the raw, transforming power of rock, forging a sound that is not afraid to bust eardrums and mend broken spirits. With a message of hope and redemption they have gone everywhere from backyard birthday parties to sharing the stage with major label acts like Skillet, Kids in the Way, and Chasing Victory. Now, with the impending release of their second album, entitled "Serene," Mourning to Mercy hopes to reach the hopeless and share the gift of mercy that they have received.
Our ministry as a Christian band Is to bring to Christ those who Do not know Him. If you would Like to know more about becoming A Christian, or if you have any Prayer concerns, send us an email at mourningtomercy@yahoo.com
