Matthias was born in Switzerland 1959 and lives in Brasil since 1993. His music tends to shift the listener to trance, to big space and a feeling of freedom and confidence. He started with progressive Rock bands like Lizard in the 70ies, improvizing Rock bands like Ggroggy in the beginning of the 80ies. 1985 he radically changed to solo and duo works, using the LiveLooping technique which he developed artistically and technically.
Holding a diploma as electric engineer, he built the first tool dedicated to this purpose, the Paradis Loop Delay in 1992 which then turned into the Gibson Echoplex Digital Pro.
The parallel development of the LiveLooping music he called Sound Carpets in the 80ies and AguArianA in the 90ies.
He recorded a lot of meetings with musicians like Marcio Lomiranda, Marcelo Bernardes, Fao Miranda, Mich Gerber, Rick Walker, Per Boysen, Arild Andersen, David Hopkins...
His main instrument is the Paradis Guitar, with built in polyphonic piezo pickup and polyphonic effects, mostly built my himself, too.
