The band received favorable radio airplay with the singles ?Chemical Girl? and ?Can't Take another Night?. In 1989 Mark's song ?On the Avenue? was selected for revue by a panel of record industry representatives, who argued passionately about the meaning behind the material. Video releases included ?On Washington Avenue? (1986) and ?On the Beltline? (1988)
In 2007 Mark founded a new band based in southern Minnesota that has been playing extensively for the past two years.
Along with pop and rock influences Mark has brought a Blues and Funk feel to his recent work. In 2008 Mark released ?Life of Illusion? and immediate interest was generated from fans as far away as France. Wide distribution via itunes and CD Baby has brought a much larger exposure to Mark's work. Mark's fifth release ?Built to Bust? is slated for release in the spring of 2011.
For live performances the Mark Cameron band blends original compositions with a very diverse range of cover material from the past five decades of popular music. From Sheryl Crow to Radiohead the band brings a range of material into each show that is seldom seen in live performance. Even the occasional country song will pop up from time to time to keep the audience smiling, and guessing about what comes next.
