Mariza Koch

Mariza Koch (?????? ???) was born in Athens. From nine years in Santorini lives with the family of her mother. The first music was Byzantine music and island songs. Ten years later returned to Athens, where lessons solfez and harmony. In 1971 Mariza Koch recording her first big album entitled Arampas. The disk is recorded for the first time a new way to access traditional songs to the accompaniment of percussion and electronic instruments. On the cover of this disc she writes: ?I started out with desire to reconcile with the trends of our time carrying through my experiences, which are directly associated with the traditional song. So I started an effort to contemporary expression of traditional song, entharrymeni by the fact that it always metamorfonotan within the tradition ?.

In 1973 circulates the second major of the disc entitled, A in blowing hot and cold, and a year later, in 1974, the disc of Two zygies games. In both these discs contained adapted traditional songs and compositions by Dionysis Savvopoulos and her own songs ..

In 1976 the record, Lady Lady, which have the same titled song with which Mariza Koch took part in the Eurovision Festival in The Hague (singing protest to the Turkish invasion of Cyprus).In this disc also presents the composition of the poem, The crazy by Costas Varnali.

In 1977 with the album, Let me travel makes a more complete presentation of synthetic slavery.
One of the songs on the disc, the Fata Morgana used by the famous Italo director Marco Ferreri as a soundtrack to the award-winning film of The history of Pierra (First Prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 1983).

From 1993 until 1996 Mariza Koch deal with the production and the recording of a musical material which forms the basis of versions of the record company VERSO establishing itself in 1997 with the main purpose of dissemination of traditional Greek music.
