In 1986, he participated in the production ?Back to work? with Sonora Ponce?a where he recorded the song ?Cancion?, also known as ?De que callada manera?; becoming this song a ?Gold Record? for Sonora Ponce?a. He is also known for songs he recorded with this orchestra like ?Pensando en ti?, ?Como Amigos, como amantes?, among many others.
In1980, Mannix Martinez recorded songs with La Terrifica including hit single Pura, Pura gaining a ?Gold Record? for La terrifica. He also recorded songs like Casa Pobre, Casa Grande, Se acabo la soledad and many others.
His hits as a singer with these great orchestras led him to play at venues like Madison Square Garden in New York, Coliseo Polihedro in Venezuela, El Pascual Guerrero in Colombia, El Callao in Peru, Bellas Artes in Puerto Rico, Brazil, Mexico and Europe.
Mannix Martinez shared stage with Latin Superstars like the ?Queen? Celia Cruz and Pete ?El Conde? Rodriguez to whom he now presents a tribute to, as well as to The Legendary Sonora Matancera of Cuba.
He recently recorded his first cd solo ?Estoy Aqui? conserving the great ?Salsa Classic? style and also participated in a cd project of producer Radames Plaza of New York titled ?Legacia de la Salsa?
