Conceptualized to combine live sax improvisations(Mahlon Hoard) with pre-recorded sample manipulations(slicnaton). Mahlon was not allowed to hear the tracks before recording his parts; keeping the first takes. Recorded and mixed at Train Tracks Studios in September of 2007 and mastered by Brent Lambert (The Kitchen, NC,USA). Free improv that distances itself from the manipulative hacks that attempt to create such controlled chaos.
Free improv that distances itself from the manipulative hacks that attempt to create such controlled chaos. Mahlon Hoard is a saxophone genius (all of these tracks were taken from the first take) while slicnaton joins him painting an ethereal backdrop with loops, samples, and a dizzying array of subtle percussion.
