Lucas Allen and the Lucas Allen Band play folk-tinged, jam-funk/pop-rock tunes. The band has seen various incarnations, but has often included Lucas Allen (guitar/vocals/harmonica/etc.), Eva Allen (guitar/vocals), Bob Thompson (keys), Brandon Pfeiffer (guitar/vocals/computer), Joel Pontius (bass), Matt Jackson (drums). After mild success of their first record, Where Theives Can't Break In..., Allen & Pfeiffer teamed up in 2004 to produce LAB's most defining work to date, Mostly Hymns. The record, released by Little America, followed Allen's journey through an old hymnal.
With Allen's contemporary arrangements & Pfeiffer's modern production, Mostly Hymns' track "1,000 Tongues" peaked at the #10 most downloaded Inspirational track in Canada. In addition to constant touring, Lucas and band have been preparing for a new record due sometime within the next year.
