Loud Music for Soft People is the name for Raymond Stanley's music project created in the fall of 2004. Along with art and photography by Stephanie Murphy, Loud Music for Soft People has created music and imagery influenced by shoegaze, ambient, experimental and other electronic music genres. They have been compared to 4AD artists such as This Mortail Coil and the Cocteau Twins. The second album - Alone in the Vertigo Conundrum - was a featured release on the long running noncommericial Musical Starstreams in the summer of 2006.
Featuring the songs "Tell Me" and "Regret I Left" - both songs featuring vocalist Jehn Cerron - it made its 2006 top 20 album of the year list.
While recordings after Alone in the Vertigo Conundrum have been released on his myspace page, no updates have been made available on a third release.
