The band was formed in Oxford in 1995 when 'Vicars New Mistress' (Rayner brothers Giles, Eg and Felix) musically merged with Groove Machine's Tom Vamos and Mr Wilson's Wig's Adam Larking. Already established on the Oxford scene the newly formed 'Cowley Road Supergroup' Loopy was born. They have gone on to play hundreds of gigs to embarrasingly appreciative audiences and continue to delight with their happy jangly guitar and harmonies-laden indie-pop sound. Now playing with legendary Chesterfields drummer Dominic Manns.

BIOGRAPHY
Loopy were a Copenhagen based group and mostly consisted of 4 members: Norwegian lead singer and guitarist Leiv Aasen, Swedish drummer Mathias Elovsson and two Danish members guitarist Martin 7 Norgreen and on bass and vocals Klaus Bendix.
- In December 2004 Loopy appeared on the soundtrack of the motion picture PUSHER II, with the track "My first kill" from the album "Smile back home".
- January 2005 Release of debut album "Smile Back Home" on Noiz/EMI in Scandinavia.
- March 2005 "Smile Back Home" US/CAN/AUS release on Zip Records a San Fransisco based Indielabel
-October 2005 The band temporarily moved to Sweden to record their second studio album "waiting for Naomi". The Album was never released. Klaus Bendix leaves the band in early 2006 and three months later Mathias Elovsson moves back to Stockholm and the remaining 2 bandmembers Leiv Aasen and Martin "Sieben" Norgreen move on to other projects.
