Starting at a young age, as half of the harmony-singing duo Ygdrassil - one of the strong components of folkmusic in The Netherlands - Linde Nijland has been singing and recording for over 15 years. ?Easy Sunrise? (2005), Ygdrassil's fifth and last album was rewarded with commending reviews in fRoots (UK), Le Figaro (Fr), Mikado (Ger) & Dirty Linen (USA). 2007 marked the provisionary end of the group and Linde became a solo-artist.
Linde has recorded two solo-albums, the poetic Dutch "Visman" (1999) and "Linde Nijland sings Sandy Denny" (2003), a homage to her favourite singer. This CD was re-released in Europe by Rounder Europe, Spring 2007. Linde has toured with Kerstin Blodig and Debbie Cassell and can be heard on the latest album of the well known singer/songwriter Si Kahn. Recently she took part in a succesfull project of Winterliederen - wintersongs.
Linde Nijland captures audiences with her beautiful voice and refined guitarplaying, as a folksinger/interpreter of her own material, as well as traditional music and folk classics.
