At only 22, Alex J. Robinson's bio is still being written. She began singing at the age of eight in her hometown of Sudbury, Ontario and at 11 she came in fourth in the Canadian Open Country Music Competition, returning the following year to take second place. Since then she has made the most of every opportunity she has been given to showcase her talent. Last September, she was the first unknown artist to perform at the Canadian Country Music Awards Gala luncheon.
Since then, Breakin' On The Love Thing, one of the songs she performed that day, cracked the top 20, (peaking nationally at number 16) when it was released as her first single to radio
Most recently, Alex is featured in the new Ontario Tourism campaign, lending her upbeat, youthful style and stellar vocals to the There's No Place Like This song. On March 7, 2008, at the Canadian Radio Music Awards, in conjunction with Canadian Music Week, Alex J. Robinson was the proud recipient of the FACTOR Breakthrough Artist of the Year Award
She is currently in rehearsals with her new band and is preparing to take her unique brand of modern country music to fans nationwide.
Alex's debut album, Never Say Never was released March 25, 2008. Working with writer and producer Tim Thorney, she joins the likes of Canadian artists such as Alanis Morissette, Jimmy Rankin, Brian Byrne and Chisai Jackson.
