LATHE - a machine in which metal is rotated about a horizontal axis and shaped by a fixed tool..... Exactly what this band is doing: shaping the metal! Originally based out of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Lathe tore it up in the midwest scene from the summer of 2004 till fall 2006. Jon Julius on vocals, Fuzzy on bass/backing vocals, Marck on guitar, and Jimi Neal on drums combined brought over 2 decades' experience in writing hardcore tunes and playing live.

Jon and Jimi started jamming together in 1993 in a band called INFERNAL REGION.After some time apart they in 2002, connected with Fuzzy when they joined a band calle TRYBE with Billy Youngblood who was also involved with the writing of UNBROKEN. Billy left to do his own thing. Finally, in 2004, the 3 of them hooked up with Marck and Kevin Jones, who helped write LIES, WHICKED WAT, SHUT THE FUK UP, Kevin wanted to do something different and Marck, Jon, Fuzzy and Jimi completed the circle.
Lathe recorded its first full-length album in late 2005 at T. Bush Record Plant in Syracuse, Indiana. ?Now or Never? was pressed and released for sale in April 2006. The CD consists of 12 original tracks that cover topics from September 11th to government to bad relationships?and of course, there are some good old-fashioned headbangin' party tunes. Newcomers, they are not, but haven't been in the scene in many years.
Lathe has a sound that is influenced by bands such as Slayer, Anthrax, and other great thrash bands from that day, to Pantera, to Slip Knot, Lamb of God, Devildriver and other great bands of today. BUT they definitely add a flavor all their own for a unique sound all their own.
The title "Now or Never" was derived by the fact that these guys had been doing this a long time, in small towns, back in the days when the internet wasn't what is is now, and if you didn't live in a big city, you weren't going to get noticed, unless a miracle happened, and without the financial support to get it to a higher level.
For a hardcore, headbanging, adrenaline pumping time - you have got to see them LIVE! Lathe is relentless on delivering to its fans the type of show that will not be forgotten. Lets see were this blast from the past will lead.
