La Cacahouette (la-cah-coo-wet) formed in Buffalo, NY in the latter part of 2003 by the inseparable duo Pepper Ochsner Thomas and Gerald Thomas. Seeing one drummer go, the highly talented Blake Ellman joined on percussion in January 2005, helping La Cacahouette solidify and mature into the creation they are today. All three members are byproducts of industrial upstate NY. While Gerald and Blake hail from the Buffalo metropolitan area, Pepper finds her roots in her hometown of Cortland, NY, a small college/industrial central NY town.

Growing up in areas where industry was failing, music was one of the few outlets the band members had. Not only is music a medium where the band can express their sadness in life, but also their happiness, their love, their hate, their pride, and their humility. With this in mind, La Cacahouette believes in experimenting with the unconventional, using different sounds and tones to evoke those deep seeded human emotions.
Drawn to the band's experimentations with time, space, and tone, La Cacahouette is quickly developing a fan base not only locally, but nationally and internationally alike. La Cacahouette is a unique brand of indie rock, ranging from tranquil to grandiose, layered with the use of quixotic and dreamlike vocals.
