Albert Kuvezin And Yat-Kha

Kuvezin, who was featured in the Academy Award winning documentary is from a southern Siberian/ northern Mongolian region known as Tuva. His music features the regional style of Tuvan throat singing, a technique that creates growling tones several octaves below normal singing. Kuvezin has gone away from the strict traditional route and created a contemporary rock combo that mines the western world by doing covers of Joy Division, Captain Beefheart, Motorhead and Hank Williams.
