Junipher Greene started up in 1966 in Oslo. They gave out their first album in 1971. The double-LP "Friendship" was the first Norwegian double-LP ever made. The EP was considered very daring and the record company demanded that the band financed half of the EP themselves. Their music-style can best be described as experimental, progressive and psychedelic, and has alot of hippie-tune in it. The band played on the first Woodstock-festival on St. Hanshaugen in Oslo. This is where "Friendship" got played for the first time, which lead to their breakthrough.
