Judith Nijland

Holland Judith grew up among the farms in the Dutch countryside and began her musical career by singing during the long bikerides to school. She studied classical piano and moved to the west coast of Holland, where she graduated in Greek and Latin languages. During this study she became acquainted with jazz music and the first band with wich she performed was a Big Band. After her graduation, Judith decided to follow her heart into the music. She studied jazz singing at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and began immediatly to follow her own path in this field.

After her graduation, Judith decided to follow her heart into the music. She studied jazz singing at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and began immediatly to follow her own path in this field. She has sung in various jazz and pop bands, in and outside the Netherlands and has performed on stage with artists such as Rob van Kreefeld, Gijs Hendriks and Rob Agerbeek.

After completing her study at the conservatory, Judith started writing her own compositions in which the emphasis lies in the combination of various styles of music with her own distinct style. With a freshness of her generation, her songs sound familiar and surprising at the same time.

Judith's vocal expression is particulary evident in her flexible timbre. She's a singer of a new generation which can perform jazz in the authentic way as well as with a tint of pop and soul. She's got a clear and warm voice with a wide range.
