With his latest album ?Picked in the Past', John has taken some of the best known rock classics and arranged them for just himself and his trusted Martin guitar. The results, including covers of the Rolling Stones ?Honky Tonk Woman' and Deep Purple ?Smoke On The Water', have won him praise from the press and public alike, including the Stones Ronnie Wood and Bill Wyman as well as Queen's Brian May (John also covered Queen's ?Crazy Little Thing Called Love' on the album).
This album is a departure from John's previous work which has had far more of a jazz perspective to it, including his work with Martin Taylorin the multi award winning group Spirit of Django, and shows a different side to John's playing.
