Joe Rybicki was born sometime in the late 1980s, in a town somewhere near Manchester. A chance encounter with a banjo and a scratched Meat Loaf LP led to him being forever enchanted with music. His mother brought home discarded library books for him to read, and he did. In January 2005, Joe entered Calder Recordings with his guitar and a carton of orange juice. He left with a 5 track EP, produced by Steve Fenton. He called this EP "Trademark Sky". In September 2006 he followed this with 'The Ninth Round' EP, showing a harder, more aggressive style of songwriting.

Joe sometimes performs solo, and sometimes with his Friends and Relations, a somewhat fluid line-up of local musicians, groupies and hangers-on.
Joe Rybicki has built up a reputation for his entertaining live performances, appearing on bills with such acts as The Holloways, Babyshambles, John Otway, Cardboard Radio, Littl'ans and Duels. His first single, 'Girl No Trouble' was released in summer 2007 on indie label Sad Gnome Records. His next is due out on Coercion Records later in the year.
