Jamie Smith

1) Jamie Smith began playing the violin at the tender age of 8, having played the piano since he was 6. He hold two all-Britain fleadh titles in senior fiddle and in 2002 reached the finals of the BBC Radio Scotland Young Musician of the Year. 2) Jamie xx (real name Jamie Smith) is a member of The xx. After remixing Gil Scott-Heron's last album before his death in May 2011 to create 'We're New Here', his first 12" 'Far Nearer / Beat For' was released in June 2011.
