James Jones

James Jones was a dutch band formed by James Jones (Caspar Steinebach, 1984) and Jim Sheperd (Wim den Herder, 1982). By the beginning of the century Jim discovered James when he was performing with a band at a high school battle of the bands fesitval in Wassenaar. The talented multi-instrumentalist Jim Sheperd immediately saw potential in the raw funky singing style of James and asked him to sing in one of his Projects, called Project-X.

After recording a few songs, Project X got a new name; James Jones, after the notorious Cult leader. The two artists came up with a legend about James. In this legend it is told That James came to holland after he had become famous in Canada, playing with artists like Nirvana, Soundgarden and even Celine Dion. When he heard about Holland he wanted to start a career there. The legend included the fact the he travelled back and forward to every gig in the Netherlands by chopper, because he, after all, still lived in Canada.

James Jones won several award including "best Amsterdam student band" and "Voorschoten Music Award"
They also performed in the Melkweg, in Amsterdam and Paard van Troje, The Hague
