Jadea Kelly hails from Whitby, Ontario and has been actively performing and songwriting since a young age. Her voice has been compared with those of established female vocalists, and her style carries a lovely emotional counterpoint, which is mirrored in her playing. She has recorded two independent albums that garnered the attention record labels. This led to a guest artist spot on Protest the Hero's 2005 album, Kezia.
She has recorded two independent albums that garnered the attention record labels. This led to a guest artist spot on Protest the Hero's 2005 album, Kezia. Jadea's fan base grew substantially after touring and recording with Protest the Hero for over two years. She gained a reputation as the mysteriously beautiful female vocalist in the music video, ?The Divine Suicide of K,' which has since gone into rotation on MTV.
Since then, Jadea has finished writing her new album which is currently being recorded with assistance of a FACTOR grant and is due for release in March of 2008. The anticipation of her upcoming album release has provided many performance opportunities at venues such as: The Silver Dollar Room, Lee's Palace, The Drake and The Central. Jadea most recently raised money for the Cystic Fibrosis foundation and will be featured in their upcoming newsletter. This is a yearly event which Jadea organizes in memory of a friend who passed away.
Jadea is thrilled for the new album and is working to solicit the new music to radio and media, while securing dates for the summer and beyond.
